With 1000's of hectares of untouched wilderness surrounding our little mountain town, wildlife is something we see a lot of in Jasper! Join a knowledgeable interpretive guide on a "Wildlife Discovery Tour" and learn all about Jasper's many wild mountain animals. Elk, deer, big horned sheep, mountain goats, foxes, coyotes, wolves, moose, are just a sample of the wild characters that contribute to the rich diversity of Jasper National Park. Together with your knowledgeable guide you will seek out these iconic creatures all while learning about the history, geology, and ecology of the area. Of course, being wild animals, we can't guarantee a live wildife sighting. What we can guarantee is that you will come away from this tour with a better appreciation of the natural environment surrounding Jasper and photos' from some pretty stunning places!
The Wildlife Discovery Tour is a van tour with minimal walking. When encountering wildlife, photos are usually taken from the inside the vehicle or on the ground at a safe distance from the animals. Jasper National Park is not a zoo but a wild, protected area. The types of animals seen on the tour depends on the season, the time of day, and the weather.
